Following our Club’s commitment during the Meeting of Presidents and Secretaries in Bucharest last September, the Bank of Greece Sports and Cultural Club is pleased toinvite the Hiking community of the sports clubs of european central banks to EURO-Hike 2025.

DATES – Program

EUROHIKE 2025 will take place in Vikos National Park in the Northwestern Region of Greece, from Thursday 8th till Sunday 11th of May 2025, according to the following Provisional Program:

Thursday 8th May 2025

Arrival of delegations – Bus transfer from Ioannina International Airport or Central Bus Station (KTEL) to Grand Serai Congress and Spa Hotel.

7:30 – 9 pm
Dinner at the hotel’s “Yiasemi” main restaurant (buffet) Technical Meeting (meeting point at the lobby of the Hotel

Friday 9th May 2025

9 am YELLOW ROUTE: VRADETO – MPELOI-SKALA-KAPESOVO
9 am GREEN ROUTE: KIPI – ZAGORI BRIDGES – VITSA
8:30 am BLUE ROUTE: VIKOS – VOIDOMATIS SPRINGS – PAPIGO
8 am RED ROUTE: MONODENDRI – VIKOS GORGE – VIKOS VILLAGE

The hikers of each different trail option, they will return to the Hotel when they end their hiking.

Dinner at the hotel. Free time to Ioannina.

Saturday 10th May 2025

Departure by bus for Klidonia Bridge
10 am – 1 pm
Start hiling from Klidonia Bridge to Aristi Bridge
1:30 pm – 3 pm
Rafting at Voidomatis river – The participants to the Rafting are kindly requested to have carry a bathing suite (IMPERATIVE!!!), some clothes to change after the rafting. They will put their equipment in the buses and they will take them upon arrival to Klidonia where they will have the opportunity to change their clothes.
3:30 pm
Barbeque – Party at the wonderful landscape near Klidonia Bridge
7 pm
Transfer back to the hotel

8:30 am – 9:30
Dinner at the hotel

Sunday 11th May 2025

Breakfast at the hotel –

Departure of the delegations throughout the day depending on flight schedules. Bus transfers to Ioannina International Airport and Central Bus Station of Ioannina (KTEL).

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to convert the above program, if weather conditions impose it.

The delegations will be accommodated in GRAND SERAI CONGRESS & SPA, a 5-star luxury hotel, located in one of the most privileged spots of Ioannina City, combines the tranquillity of a quiet district surrounded by a park, with the convenience of being in the centre of the bustling Ioannina, just 5 km from the Ioannina International Airport(https://www.grandserai.com).

TRANSPORT to / from IOANNINA

It is possible to fly from Athens to Ioannina. The flight takes a little more than an hour.According to the flight schedule of May, there are two flights per day to / from Ioannina International Airport “King Pyrros”.

• Alternatively, you could travel from Athens to Ioannina by a bus, which is about a 5.5-hour trip. You could take information in the following site: https://ktelioannina.gr/en/about.html
• Ιf you travel from Thessaloniki to Ioannina, it’s a 3.5-hour trip by bus. There are also daily buses from Thessaloniki to Ioannina.

• Bus transfers from / to Ioannina International Airport will be provided by the Organizing Committee.

LOCATION

Located at the heart of Vikos – Aoos National Park, the Vikos Gorge with a depth of over 900 meters and a width ranging from 100 to 1.100 meters, it has earned a well-deserved spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the deepest canyon in proportion to its width.

• The Gorge is located in the mountainous Epirus region, which, despite its breathtaking landscapes and excellent hiking trails, has remained largely undiscovered by foreign travelers. Because of that, the area has a very authentic and off-the-beaten-path feeland you’ll get to enjoy it without the tourist crowds that suffocate many other parts of Greece, especially during the summer holiday season.
• The rich wildlife of the National Park includes species of amphibians, birds and mammals. The important contribution of the National Park refers not only to the fauna, but to the flora as well.
• Nestled behind the Mitsikeli mountain, lie the 46 traditional villages of Zagorochoria, enhancing the region’s natural, rugged beauty and captivating visitors with their impressive architecture. These are villages with a pure mountainous atmosphere, rich history, ancient churches, and cobblestone streets. This harmonious blend of nature and culture extends to Zagorochoria’s recent recognition.
• The location is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its distinct traditional stone architecture, showcasing the shared Byzantine and Ottoman heritage in the Balkans.

PARTICIPATION FEE

The fee for the event will be 580 € in a double/twin room. Single rooms will be available at an extra cost of 180€. The fee will be the same for accompanying guests.

The full package includes: accommodation for 3 nights, all transfers from/to the Ioannina airport, the hiking venues, rafting services in Voidomatis River, meals on a full board basis (breakfast, lunch, dinner, gala dinner and a selection of social events). At a later stage we will send you useful information and the Final Daily Program.
